Dr Susan White
Susan is a Sport & Exercise Physician who has worked in this specialist field for more than 25 years. She has worked with elite athletes at both Olympic, Paralympic and Commonwealth Games and has consulted primarily at Olympic Park Sports Medicine Centre in Melbourne since 1992.
Susan has a strong involvement in community level sport as a team sports trainer at East Malvern Knights Junior Football Club, as well as working with junior water polo, swimming, netball, athletics and rowing. She is passionate about the importance of sport in adolescents and has a special interest in injuries and rehabilitation in this age group.
Susan is an international expert in the Drugs in Sport field. She is a member of the World Anti-Doping Agency’s TUE Expert Group and Chair of the Australian Sports Drug Medical Advisory Committee as well as having anti-doping roles with the International Golf Federation, AFL and Cricket Australia
Susan has a career long interest in the role of physical activity in good health for women, especially in the peri-partum period. She has been an advisor to Sport Medicine Australia’s Women in Sport Working Group on Exercise during Pregnancy and female athlete related issues.
Commencing practice in Brighton, Susan is looking forward to working with GPs and other medical Specialists in the prescription of Exercise as Medicine for all health conditions.
In 2016 Susan was honoured with a Monash University Fellowship for her contribution to Sports Medicine and Anti-Doping. She regularly supervises medical students undertaking research in Sport and Exercise Medicine and is a Registrar supervisor & examiner for the Australasian College of Sport and Exercise Medicine.
